11ᵉ édition du Festival Czech-In Du 16 au 19 octobre 2025
Le Festival Czech-In, unique vitrine en France du cinéma tchèque et slovaque, revient pour sa 11ᵉ édition du 16 au 19 octobre 2025, au Cinéma Saint-André des Arts et à la Filmothèque du Quartier Latin.
Cette année, le festival met à l’honneur les regards de femmes – cinéastes, actrices, productrices, artistes et figures publiques – qui, chacune à leur manière, marquent notre temps, façonnent le cinéma contemporain et nourrissent le débat sur notre société.

🎥 Hommage à Věra Chytilová
Icône de la Nouvelle Vague tchécoslovaque, Věra Chytilová (1929-2014) fut une pionnière audacieuse, inclassable et visionnaire, dont l’influence inspire encore de nombreuses générations de cinéastes.
En écho à son esprit inventif, le festival lui consacre un programme rare et inédit :
- Projection spéciale de son premier film Sur quelque chose d’autre à la Filmothèque du Quartier Latin, en avant-goût du festival, en partenariat avec Contre-Jour Distribution.
- Documentaire inédit sur sa complice et muse Ester Krumbachová, « éminence grise » de la Nouvelle Vague tchèque, présenté et commenté par Garance Fromont.
- Rencontre professionnelle sur son héritage et son impact sur le cinéma féminin en Europe centrale, organisée avec l’Association française de recherche sur l’histoire du cinéma (AFRHC) à INHA: Institut national d’histoire de l’art.
- Projection de deux courts-métrages, Plafond et Un sac de puces, en partenariat avec l’INALCO.
🎬 Une programmation au féminin
Parmi les voix contemporaines mises à l’honneur :
- Zuzana Kirchnerová avec Karavan (Sélection Un Certain Regard, Cannes 2025), en avant-première parisienne, présentée par la réalisatrice aux côtés de l’actrice Aňa Geislerová, icône du cinéma tchèque et quintuple lauréate des cinq Český lev.
- Klára Tasovská avec Ještě nejsem, kým chci být (Je ne suis pas encore celle que je veux être), portrait vibrant de la photographe Libuše Jarcovjáková, figure de l’underground pragois et candidate de la République tchèque aux Oscars 2025.
Ces portraits de femmes fortes dialoguent avec des œuvres de réalisateurs attentifs à leur place dans nos sociétés, comme Prezidentka de Marek Šulík, consacré à Zuzana Čaputová, première présidente de Slovaquie.
🌍 Une sélection riche et engagée
Plus d’une dizaine de films – fictions et documentaires, souvent inédits en France et primés dans de grands festivals internationaux – seront à découvrir.
Au programme également :
- After party de Vojtěch Strakatý (Biennale de Venise 2024).
- Akcia Monaco de Dušan Trančík, grande figure du cinéma slovaque.
- Bloc de courts-métrages d’animation – Nouvelle vague de l’animation tchèque.
- Bába, moyen-métrage de Zuzana Kirchnerová.
- À la Sorbonne : Ernest Denis – Fondateur oublié, documentaire historique.
Le 17 novembre à l’Auditorium de l’Hôtel de Ville de Paris : projection spéciale de Milada, consacré à Milada Horáková, victime du communisme exécutée il y a 75 ans, suivie d’un débat avec historiens et journalistes.
🏆 Le jury 2025
Trois personnalités du monde des arts distingueront le lauréat de la Petite Marguerite d’Or, prix inspiré par l’univers de Věra Chytilová, saluant audace et innovation :
- Lenka Horňáková Civade, écrivaine et scénariste
- Pierre Erwan Guillaume, scénariste et réalisateur
- Éric Cénat, metteur en scène et directeur de compagnie théâtrale
🤝 Un espace de rencontres et de dialogue
Fidèle à sa vocation, le Festival Czech-In demeure un lieu d’échanges entre la France, la République tchèque et la Slovaquie, autour des enjeux de la coproduction et de la diffusion du cinéma d’Europe centrale en France.

The Czech-In Film Festival, the only showcase in France dedicated to Czech and Slovak cinema, returns for its 11ᵗʰ edition from October 16 to 19, 2025, at Cinéma Saint-André des Arts and the Quartier Latin Film Library.
This year, the festival highlights women’s perspectives – filmmakers, actresses, producers, artists, and public figures – who, each in their own way, shape our time, influence contemporary cinema, and enrich the debate about our society.

🎥 Tribute to Věra Chytilová
An icon of the Czechoslovak New Wave, Věra Chytilová (1929–2014) was a bold, unclassifiable, and visionary pioneer whose influence continues to inspire generations of filmmakers.
Echoing her inventive spirit, the festival dedicates a rare and original program to her:
- Special screening of her debut Something Different at the Quartier Latin Film Library, as a festival preview, in partnership with Contre-Jour Distribution.
- A documentary on her collaborator and muse Ester Krumbachová, the “grey eminence” of the Czech New Wave, introduced and commented on by Garance Fromont.
- A professional roundtable on her legacy and impact on women’s cinema in Central Europe, organized with the French Association for Research on the History of Cinema (AFRHC) at National Institute for Art History.
- Screenings of two short films, Ceiling and A Bagful of Fleas, in partnership with INALCO.
🎬 A program with a feminine perspective
Among the contemporary voices highlighted:
- Zuzana Kirchnerová with Caravan (Un Certain Regard, Cannes 2025), Parisian premiere, presented by the director alongside actress Aňa Geislerová, an icon of Czech cinema and five-time Czech Lion winner.
- Klára Tasovská with I Am Not Yet Who I Want to Be (Je ne suis pas encore celle que je veux être), a vibrant portrait of photographer Libuše Jarcovjáková, a Prague underground figure and the Czech Republic’s 2025 Oscar contender.
These portraits of strong women resonate with works by directors attentive to women’s roles in our societies, such as Marek Šulík’s The President, devoted to Zuzana Čaputová, the first female president of Slovakia.
🌍 A rich and committed selection
More than a dozen films – fiction and documentaries, often French premieres and award-winners at major international festivals – will be showcased.
Highlights include:
- After party by Vojtěch Strakatý (Venice Biennale 2024).
- Akcia Monaco by Dušan Trančík, a leading figure of Slovak cinema.
- A program of animated shorts – New Wave of Czech Animation.
- Bába, a medium-length film by Zuzana Kirchnerová.
- At the Sorbonne: Ernest Denis – Forgotten Founder, a historical documentary.
- On November 17 at the Auditorium of the Paris City Hall: a special screening of Milada, devoted to Milada Horáková, victim of communism executed 75 years ago, followed by a debate with historians and journalists.
🏆 The 2025 Jury
Three leading figures from the arts will award the Petite Marguerite d’Or, a prize inspired by the world of Věra Chytilová, honoring audacity and innovation:
- Lenka Horňáková Civade, novelist and screenwriter
- Pierre Erwan Guillaume, screenwriter and director
- Éric Cénat, stage director and head of a theatre company
🤝 A space for dialogue and encounters
True to its mission, the Czech-In Film Festival remains a place of exchange between France, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, focusing on issues of co-production and the dissemination of Central European cinema in France.

Festival Czech-In, jedinečná francouzská přehlídka české a slovenské kinematografie, se vrací se svým 11. ročníkem od 16. do 19. října 2025 v pařížských kinech Saint-André des Arts a Filmothèque du Quartier Latin.
Letošní ročník je věnován ženskému pohledu – režisérkám, herečkám, producentkám, umělkyním a veřejně známým osobnostem, které každá po svém zanechávají stopu v naší době, utvářejí současnou kinematografii a přispívají k debatě o podobě naší společnosti.

🎥 Pocta Věře Chytilové
Ikona československé nové vlny Věra Chytilová (1929–2014) byla odvážná, nezařaditelná a vizionářská průkopnice, jejíž vliv dodnes inspiruje celé generace filmařů.
Festival jí vzdává hold prostřednictvím mimořádného a jedinečného programu:
- Speciální projekce jejího debutu O něčem jiném ve Filmothèque du Quartier Latin, jako předzvěst festivalu, ve spolupráci s Contre-Jour Distribution.
- Premiéra dokumentu o její blízké spolupracovnici a múze Ester Krumbachové, „šedé eminenci“ české nové vlny, s úvodem a komentářem Garance Fromont.
- Profesní setkání věnované jejímu odkazu a vlivu na ženskou kinematografii ve střední Evropě, organizované ve spolupráci s Francouzskou asociací pro výzkum dějin kinematografie v INHA (Narodni Institut pro dějiny umění)
- Projekce dvou krátkých filmů Strop a Pytel blech ve spolupráci s INALCO.
🎬 Ženská filmová tvorba v hlavním programu
Mezi současnými výraznými hlasy uvede festival například:
- Zuzanu Kirchnerovou s filmem Karavan (sekce Un Certain Regard, Cannes 2025) – pařížská předpremiéra za účasti režisérky a herečky Ani Geislerové, ikony české kinematografie a pětinásobné držitelky Českého lva.
- Kláru Tasovskou s filmem Ještě nejsem, kým chci být (Je ne suis pas encore celle que je veux être), strhujícím portrétem fotografky Libuše Jarcovjákové, výrazné postavy pražského undergroundu a českým kandidátem na Oscara 2025.
Tyto portréty silných žen se prolínají s díly režisérů, kteří zkoumají jejich místo v dnešních společnostech, jako je Prezidentka Marka Šulíka, věnovaná Zuzaně Čaputové, první prezidentce Slovenska.
