La 7ème édition de Czech-In se déroulera le 22, 23 et le 24 octobre 2021, organisée dans les dates qui anticipent la fête nationale de la Tchécoslovaquie (le 28 octobre). Les projections seront organisées dans diverses lieux de la capitale : l’Auditorium de l’hôtel de ville de Paris, les cinémas Les 3 Luxembourg et le Reflet Medicis, puis deux projections satellites seront présentées en novembre dans les locaux des universités de Paris Sorbonne et Institut National des langues orientales.
Après une année de césure imposée, le festival souhaite montrer la vivacité et diversité de la culture tchèque, en mettant à l’honneur les films qui ont des liens particuliers avec la culture française.
L’événement s’ouvrira avec le film documentaire de Roman Vavra Alfons Mucha – L’affichiste de l’art nouveau (2020), en présence de petit fils de peintre – John Mucha et de l’équipe du film. De renommée internationale, cet artiste tchèque exceptionnel a fait sa carrière au tournant de 19e et 20e siècles à Paris, et il y a créé un nouveau style qui portait son nom : Mucha.
Les petits et les grands pourront apprécier un autre savoir-faire artistique dans lequel les Tchèques excellent : le cinéma d’animation. Même les souris vont au paradis (2021), film co-produit par la République tchèque, la France, la Pologne et la Slovaquie, sera présenté en avant-première parisienne, en présence de son producteur français Alexandre Charlet (Films du Cygne).
Le festival abordera cependant des sujets plus sérieux : l’expulsion des minorités allemandes après la fin de la seconde guerre mondiale est le sujet du film Le Pays dans l’ombre (2020) de Bohdan Sláma. Le débat sera animé par Roman Krakovský, l’historien spécialiste d’Europe Centrale et Orientale.
La clôture du programme se tiendra à l’occasion de la projection d’Un jour un chat de Vojtech Jasný (1963), restauré à l’occasion de Cannes classics cette année. Le film sera accompagné par une présentation d’Anne-Laure Brénéol-Ithurralde (Malavida distribution).
Le département tchèque de Sorbonne Université accueillera une projection de Confession d’un disparu (2015) de Petr Vaclav. Une autre projection aura lieu à l’INALCO : De ta vie (2012) de Krystof Maratka. Les deux films seront présentés par leur réalisateur.
Comme c’est la tradition depuis la création de festival en 2009, celui-ci est sous le haut patronage de l’ambassadeur de la république tchèque à Paris, S.E. Michael Fleischmann, et sa marraine d’honneur est Mme Katerina Lojdová, actrice tchèque et épouse de l’ambassadeur. Le festival compte parmi ses nombreux prestigieux partenaires également le Conseil Parisien des Européen.nes auprès de la Ville de Paris.
The seventh edition of the Czech-In Festival, a festival of Czech and Slovak films in Paris, will take place on October 22, 23 and 24, 2021, on the occasion of the upcoming national holiday of Czechoslovakia (October 28).
Once again the screenings will be organized in various screening rooms of the capital so they will be accessible to a wide audience. Screenings will take place in the Auditorium of the City Hall of Paris, as well as in the 3 Luxembourg and Reflet Médiciscinemas. In November, two satellite screenings will take place at Parisian universities: the Sorbonne and the State Institute of Oriental Languages.
After a mandatory year off, the festival wishes to show the liveliness and diversity of Czech culture and will present films that may have a connection with France.
The event will begin with a screening of Roman Vávra’s documentary – The World According to Mucha (2020), in the Auditorium of the City Hall of Paris in the presence of Alphonse Mucha’s grandson John, as well as the film crew. Master of Art Nouveau, this exceptional and internationally recognized Czech artist spent his career in Paris at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and created a new style named after him: the Mucha style.
Children and adults will be able to appreciate another artistic discipline in which the Czechs excel: film animation, represented by Even Mice Belongs in Heaven (2021), a film by directors Jan Bubeníček and Denisa Grimmová, co-produced by the Czech Republic, France, Poland and Slovakia. The Paris premiere will take place in the presence of the main character Šupito and French producer Alexander Charlet (Films du Cygne).
The festival will also address more serious topics: the expulsion of German minorities after the end of World War II is the theme of Bohdan Sláma’s film Landscape in the Shadows (2020). Subsequently, there will be a debate with Roman Krakovský, a historian specializing in Central and Eastern Europe.
The main October program will end with a screening of the film, The Cassandra Cat by Vojtěch Jasný (1963), which was restored on the occasion of this year’s Cannes classics selection. The film will be accompanied by a presentation by Anne-Laure Brénéol-Ithurralde (Malavida distribution).
The Czech language department of the Sorbonne University will host a screening of the film Confession of the Forgotten (2015) by Petr Václav. The next screening will take place in INALCO: From Your Life (2012) by director Kryštof Mařatka. Both films will be presented by the directors.
As has been the tradition since its inception, the festival has been organized under the auspices of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Paris, Mr. Michal Fleischmann. Its honorary patron this year is Mrs.Kateřina Lojdová, Czech actress and wife of the Ambassador. The festival also counts newly among its many prestigious partners the Parisian Council of Europeans with the City of Paris.
Sedmý ročník Festivalu Czech-In, přehlídky českých a slovenských filmů v Paříži, se uskuteční 22., 23. a 24.října 2021 u příležitosti nadcházejícího státního svátku Československa (28. října).
Nově budou projekce organizované na různých místech hlavního města tak, aby byly přístupné širokému publiku. Promítat se bude v Auditoriu Pařížské radnice, v kinech Les 3 Luxembourg a Reflet Médicis. V listopadu se budou konat dvě satelitní projekce na dvou pařížských univerzitách: na Sorbonně a na Národním institutu orientálních jazyků (INALCO).
Po roce nucené přestávky si festival přeje ukázat živost a rozmanitost české kultury a představí filmy, které mají spojitost s francouzskou kulturou.
Akci zahájí projekce dokumentárního filmu Romana Vávry – Svět podle Muchy (2020) v Auditoriu Pařížské radnice a za přítomnosti Muchova vnuka Johna Muchy a filmového štábu. Tento vynikající a mezinárodně uznávaný český umělec, udělal kariéru na přelomu 19. a 20. století v Paříži a vytvořil nový styl, který je po něm i pojmenovaný, styl Mucha.
Děti i dospělí budou moci ocenit další uměleckou disciplínu, v níž Češi vynikají – filmovou animaci, kterou zastoupí Myši patří do nebe (2021), film režisérů Jana Bubeníčka a Denisy Grimmové, koprodukovaný Českou republikou, Francií, Polskem a Slovenskem. V pařížské předpremiéře bude film představený za přítomnosti hlavní představitelky Šupito a Alexandra Charlet, francouzského producenta (Films du Cygne).
Festival se bude zabývat také vážnějšími tématy. Námětem filmu Krajina ve stínu (2020) Bohdana Slámy je odsunu německých menšin po skončení druhé světové války je. Následovat bude debata s Romanem Krakovským, historikem specializujícím se na střední a východní Evropu.
Hlavní říjnový program bude uzavřen promítáním filmu Až přijde kocour Vojtěcha Jasného (1963), který byl restaurován a oceněn u příležitosti letošního ročníku festivalu v Cannes classic. Film bude doprovázen prezentací Anne-Laure Brénéol-Ithurralde (Malavida distribution).
Katedra českého jazyka univerzity Sorbonne bude hostitelem projekce filmu Zpověď zapomenutého (2015) od Petra Václava. Další projekce se uskuteční na INALCO: Z tvého života (2012) režiséra Kryštofa Mařatky. Oba filmy představí jejich režisér.
Jak je již dobrou tradicí, festival je od roku vzniku 2009 organizován pod záštitou velvyslance České republiky v Paříži. Letos zaštítí festival současný velvyslanec Michal Fleischmann a čestný patronát přijala paní Kateřina Lojdová, česká herečka a choť pana velvyslance.
Festival také nově mezi své prestižní partnery počítá Pařížskou Radu Evropanů při Radnici Města Paříže.
